about

Last, but not least, the title track of my 1999 record. A passing reference to a British TV show of my childhood, the Jukebox Jury has most certainly sentenced me to life, keeps me sane (& frequently broke), but I find that making music is the cure for most ills in these strange times. As like to say #cheaperthantherapy

lyrics

The Jukebox jury just sentenced me to life
Every time I hear Merle sing I see her eyes
Tonight the bottle let me down tho’ mama tried
And the Jukebox jury just sentenced me to life

Only came into this bar to kill some time
Now time’s been killin’ me ‘cos she’s not mine
Then somebody slipped that coin into the slot
And I’m the man that loves in the land that time forgot

Yeah the Jukebox jury just sentenced me to life etc

Now I’m going to have to ask you all to turn that music down
You been playing our song I could hear it clear across town
I used to be cold sober now I’m tight
Now I’m the man that lives on the edge of Saturday night
